Romanian Senate Chairman Nicolae Vacaroiu took over as interim president

Senate Chairman Nicolae Vacaroiu officially started to carry out presidents authorities of Romania today. After Romanian President Traian Basescu was suspended by Romaniaâ€™s opposition-dominated parliament Senate Chairman Nicolae Vacaroiu on Friday took over as interim president.
After visiting Traian Basescu Senate Chairman hold out discussions with state counselors on the urgent problems of the country. Nicolae Vacaroiu is to approve the composition of the Cabinet of Ministers until the end of the day. A member of the opposition left-wing Social Democratic Party, Vacaroiu said the Cabinet of Ministers will not include representative of his own party. The date of the impeachment referendum will be specified today.
According to the Romanian Constitution, the referendum must be hold in 30 days since the day the president suspended. Nicolae Vacaroiu announced the impeachment referendum would take place on May 20. To have the force of law this decision is to be ratified in the joint meeting of two parliament chamber. /APA/
