On June 5, the first consular consultations between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation of the Kingdom of Spain were held in Madrid, the capital of Spain, APA reports, citing the Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
According to the information, the Azerbaijani delegation was led by Emil Safarov, Head of the Consular Department, while the Spanish delegation was led by Carolina Alvarez, Director General for Spaniards Abroad and Consular Affairs.
During the consular consultations, discussions were held on the current state and prospects of cooperation in the consular sphere with Spain, a partner country for Azerbaijan, including the signing of new bilateral documents in this field and the digitalization of consular services.
During the talks, the parties reviewed prospects for multilateral and bilateral cooperation between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Kingdom of Spain in the fields of protection of the rights and freedoms of citizens of the two countries, as well as justice, law enforcement, prosecution, migration, education and visa policy.
