Azerbaijan's Foreign Ministry: Condition of those injured in Sea of Azov drone attack is stable, some to be discharged from hospital

Following reports that Azerbaijani citizens were killed and injured in a drone attack targeting cargo vessels in the Sea of Azov on June 5, employees of the Embassy of Azerbaijan in the Russian Federation immediately travelled to the area, the Press Service Department of Azerbaijan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs told APA.

According to the ministry, staff members of the embassy's Consular Section are currently in the city of Yeysk, where they are providing the necessary consular assistance to injured and rescued Azerbaijani citizens. The condition of the injured is reported to be stable, and several of them are expected to be discharged from hospital in the near future.

The relevant authorities of the Russian Federation are continuing search and rescue operations, including efforts to establish the identities of those who lost their lives and carry out other necessary procedures.

At the same time, measures are being taken to complete documentation procedures for the rescued Azerbaijani citizens, provide them with temporary travel documents, and organize their return to Azerbaijan.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that it is keeping the matter under special supervision and maintaining close coordination with the relevant institutions.

Additional information regarding the identities of the deceased and the repatriation of their bodies to Azerbaijan will be provided to the public in due course.
