A fierce exchange of fire has occurred between Iranian border guards and a terrorist group, APA’s Tehran bureau reports.
Six militants were neutralized during a confrontation in the Zabol Border Regiment of Iran’s Sistan and Baluchestan Province.
Iran’s Border Guard Command said that a violent firefight broke out last night between border guards and an armed group that attempted to enter the country and attack border posts.
According to the statement, six members of the armed group were neutralized during the operation.
While clearing the area, border guards discovered two pistols and a large quantity of ammunition.
Note that the city of Zabol is located in southeastern Iran, in Sistan and Baluchestan Province, near the border with Afghanistan.
