EU urges UN to adopt resolution on Syria

Baku-APA. The European Union (EU) on Monday urged the United Nations to adopt a resolution on Syria, APA reports quoting Xinhua.

"The EU is deeply disappointed that the UN Security Council has not yet been able to adopt a resolution on the current developments in Syria," said a conclusion adopted by the EU foreign ministers in Luxembourg.

According to the conclusion, the EU will continue to press for strong UN action to increase international pressure and urges all members of the Security Council to assume their responsibilities in relation to the situation in Syria.

"In addition, the EU will pursue efforts with regional partners, to address the situation in Syria," it said.
