Fire kills four, injures 14 in Croatia nursing home

Baku-APA. A fire killed at least four people and injured another 14 in a nursing home in north Croatia’s city of Bjelovar Friday afternoon, local media reported, APA reports quoting Xinhua.

All the injured were sent to a local hospital and none of them were in life-threatening condition, according to a report by Croatian television HRT.

It said the privately-owned nursing home in Bjelovar, some 60 kilometers east of Zagreb, had been hit by a lightning before the fire caught on at around 13:30 local time (1130 GMT).

Croatian Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor visited the injured people in the hospital Friday evening, and promised a swift investigation of the exact cause of the accident.
