Mahmoud Abbas: â€œThe normalization of Turkey-Israel relations can positively affect the peace negotiations in the regionâ€

APAâ€™s European bureau reports that Head of the Palestinian government highly assessed Turkeyâ€™s role in the region, and said that if Turkey-Israel relations are normalized, it would positively influence the peace negotiations in the region: â€œAs you know, Turkey has already played a mediator role between Syria and Israel and we are closely watching this process. We know that Turkeyâ€™s role in this issue is very significant and serves to the establishment of peace in the Middle East. Besides, Turkey provides great support to us for establishment of our independent country. I consider that If Israel gives an adequate answer in this vessels issue, it will play a great role in peace process. The truce must be concluded between Turkey and Israel for it. I believe that Turkeyâ€™s role in the region will be effective againâ€.
