Baku-APA. An agreement was signed by Slovak Interior Minister Daniel Lipsic and his Serbian counterpart Ivica Dacic on Tuesday enabling Slovak rescue teams to be deployed rapidly to Serbian locations hit by natural disasters, and vice versa, APA reports.

"It’s continuation of existing good relations between Slovakia and Serbia," said Lipsic, adding that Slovakia will be able to provide personnel and technical assistance.

The Serbian minister spoke about relations between the two countries and expressed his gratitude for Slovakia’s support in Serbia’s EU bid.

According to Lipsic, Slovakia is also ready to provide its experience from the areas of migration, asylum, border protection and combating corruption and organized crime.

A memorandum of agreement related to the issue was approved by the Slovak government last week.
