Baku-APA. Five soldiers of the Turkish security forces was killed Saturday and three others were wounded in clashes with PKK terror organization, APA reports quoting XInhua
A group of PKK terrorists attacked Belenoluk gendarmerie station at Belenoluk village in Pervari town of the southeastern province of Siirt with long-distance weapons on Saturday evening, leaving five Turkish soldiers killed and three others wounded, the report said.
The wounded were rushed to Sirnak military hospital for medical treatment by helicopter, the report added.
The PKK terror organization has recently intensified its attacks on Turkish troops and Turkish officials who have vowed to reciprocate with absolute determination.
Listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the United States and the European Union, the PKK took up arms in 1984 to create an ethnic homeland in southeastern Turkey. More than 40,000 people have been killed in conflicts involving the PKK during the past over two decades.
