Protesters burn US flag in London

Baku-APA. British protesters have torched the US flag outside the US embassy in London during a ceremony marking 10 years after the September 11 attacks on the US soil, APA reports quoting Press TV.

The protesters gathered outside the embassy building in Grosvenor Square, Central London, on Sunday afternoon, when they shouted anti-US slogans, including "USA terrorists", and "Obama, Obama, terrorist", British media reported.

They also carried placards reading anti-American messages.
Media reports attributed the gathering to Muslims Against Crusades (MAC) group.

"It (the gathering) will be to expose the crimes of the American government over the past ten years and showing how they have failedâ€, the Daily Telegraph quoted Anjem Choudary, a MAC group member as saying.

A protester noted that â€œAmerica had been defeated in Iraq and defeated in Afghanistan".

"You will always face suffering, you will always face humiliation, unless you withdraw your troops from Muslim lands", another protester said.

According to reports, English Defence League (EDL), the group which was linked to a Norwegian terrorist who recently killed dozens of youths in the country, has been staging an anti-Muslim gathering in the square too.

The 60-strong group of EDL supporters briefly scuffled with police as they were forced away from their original location to a different part of Grosvenor Square, added the reports.
