British police kill another with Taser

Baku-APA. The Metropolitan Police have killed a 53-year-old man after hitting him with a Taser weapon while trying to arrest him in Over Hulton, near Bolton, APA reports quoting Press TV.

After the Greater Manchester Police officers received reports that Philip Hulmes, the 53-year-old Tasered to death, had locked himself in intending to stab himself in the abdomen, they broke into his home and hit him with a shock gun as they tried to arrest him.

The recent case of the death in the hands of the British Police comes as two more death cases this week questioned British policeâ€™s sense of responsibility. During last week, the British police have killed two men with shock guns and one man with pepper spray.

These incidents come as the death of a black man, Mark Duggan, by the British Police triggered Britainâ€™s worst unrest in decades earlier this month. People took to the streets to show their anger at the way the police treated them but the British Police is still killing people indiscriminately after quelling the unprecedented unrest.

The case has been referred to the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) that is to launch a post-mortem examination on the body. However, the toothless commission is already under fire as it infuriated the public after admitting that it might have â€œmisledâ€ the media into believing that Duggan had fired at officers before being killed by the police.

Moreover, while Amnesty International has called for a moratorium on the use of Taser guns and the United Nations Committee Against Torture has ruled that the use of such guns constitutes a â€œform of tortureâ€ which may lead to death, the British Police continue to kill people with Taser.

Furthermore, the British Prime Minister boasted of taking an iron fist approach as he called for a more visible presence of British Police officers on the streets as he blamed the recent unrest across Britain on British societyâ€™s sense of irresponsibility and moral decline.
