Baku-APA. Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu vowed on Thursday to bolster bilateral relations with Pakistan, APA reports quoting Xinhua.

Davutoglu made the remarks at a joint press conference after talks with his Pakistani counterpart Hina Rabbani Khar in the Turkish capital of Ankara.

The two foreign ministers discussed bilateral and regional issues and agreed to boost bilateral relations, Davutoglu said, adding that the two countries will hold Joint Economic Committee’s meeting to solve bilateral economic issues.

He said the trade volume between Turkey and Pakistan has reached one billion U.S. dollars and both countries were eager to double it.

Turkish and Pakistani parties held a meeting of High Level Cooperation Council last December and the next meeting will be held in Islamabad at the end of this year or the beginning of 2012, the foreign minister said.

"We also set Nov. 2 for a meeting on Afghanistan in Turkey, followed by a Turkey-Afghanistan-Pakistan meeting in November," he said.

For her part, Khar said Turkey and Pakistan had deep-rooted relations and the two countries should work together to improve economic relations.

Pakistan is always committed to regional peace and stability, She said, adding that Pakistan is looking forward to the tripartite summit in November.
