Spain displays Picasso lithographic work

Baku-APA. Barcelona’s Picasso Museum has mounted an exhibition of lithography works by the world-renowned Spanish painter created between 1945 and 1956, APA reports quoting Press TV.

The Engraving Exhibition Rooms of the museum display a selection of 40 works Picasso created using several kinds of plates, a variety of traditional media as well as introducing new materials, radically transforming the old established practices of the craft.

Picasso’s lithographic work presents different interpretations and variations of a given subjects, Artdaily reported.

The exhibited lithographs are showcased in three sections, the first of which presents different examples of the techniques used by the artist.

The second part displays a selection of lithographs produced for peace movements, and the last section shows how Picasso’s companion Francoise Gilot and the artist’s children Claude and Paloma became his favorite models from 1945 to 1956.

Spanish painter, draughtsman and sculptor, Pablo Picasso is best-known for co-founding the Cubist movement and for the wide variety of styles embodied in his work.
