The Kurdish Communities Union (KCK), a group considered to be the urban branch of the PKK, said in a statement that the PKK was abandoning the cease-fire because of the failure of the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) to deal with Kurdish issues.

PKK submitted the following demands to Turkish state and governments:

1. Stop all operation against Kurds in political and military spheres
2. the release of arrested “Kurdish politicians”
3. PKK Leader Abdullah Ojalan’s active participation on the settlement process of “Kurdish problem”
4. The establishment of commission on amendment to the Constitution and “Research Commission for Justice and Truth” for the development of the process
5. The abolition of 10% barrier for the political parties’ representation at the Parliament.

Turkey will hold the parliamentary election on June 12 this year.
