Baku-APA. More than 20 people were injured on Saturday in clashes between police and youth anti-government groups in downtown Zagreb, Croatian media reported, APA reports quoting RIA Novosti.

The Vecernji list newspaper said 13 civilians and 11 police sought medical aid after the clash. About 60 people were arrested.

Protestors tried to march towards the government building, where rallies are banned, but were stopped by riot police cordons. They threw stones, torches and bottles at police, who responded by tear gas.

Protestors, reportedly members of an anti-government group, reportedly organized themselves via Facebook, and were joined by football fans.

They demanded Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor step down over her government’s unsuccessful economic policy.

The prime minister did not comment.
