Baku – APA-Economics. The European Union has decided to freeze the assets of ousted Tunisian president Zine el-Abidine Ben Ali and his wife Leila Trabelsi, APA-Economics reported quoting AFP.
Tunisian caretaker government demanded to freeze the bank assets of the former president, his wife and relatives.
Tunisian law-enforcement bodies found new evidences about the illegal financial operations by the former president and his relatives, which led them to issue international warrant for his arrest.
Earlier the Swiss government froze Ben Ali’s assets and members of his regime are also expected to face with such sanctions.
