Blast kills soldier, wounds 3 in southeast Turkey

Baku-APA. One soldier of the Turkish security forces was killed and three others injured on Tuesday when a hand- made explosive went off in southeastern Turkey, an official statement said, APA reports quoting news.xinhuanet.com website.
The statement issued by Sirnak governor’s office said, "A hand- made explosive planted by members of the outlawed Kurdish Workers’ Party (PKK) exploded in the rural area near Uludere town of Sirnak province."
The injured were rushed to a military hospital in Sirnak for medical treatment, added the statement.
The PKK took up arms in 1984 to create an ethnic homeland in southeastern Turkey and is listed as a terrorist organization by the Turkish government, the United States and the European Union.
Some 40,000 people have been killed in conflicts fuelled by PKK ’s separatist campaign in Turkey.
