Baku. Lachin Sultanova – APA. “Following the latest events in Kishinew, authorities of the Republic of Moldova accused Romania for the alleged involvement in the internal affairs of this country. Romania categorically rejects such accusations and considers them a provocation at the address of the Romanian State,” says the press release sent to APA by Romanian embassy in Azerbaijan.
“It is unacceptable that the authorities in Kishinew transfer the responsibilities for the internal problems in Moldova to Romania and Romanian citizens. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania took note with indignation about the decision taken by Kishinew regarding the Ambassador of Romania to t7he Republic of Moldova who was declared “persona non grata”. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania categorically rejects the accusations launched by the authorities of the Republic of Moldova regarding the alleged implication of Romania in the internal affairs of this state. Lately the authorities of the Republic of Moldova have taken abusive, arbitrary and discriminatory measures against the Romanian citizens. The toughest one is the introduction of the visa regime for the citizens of Romania, breaching provisions of the Agreement between the Republic of Moldova and the European Union. Romania supports the positions expressed by the European Union regarding the situation in Kishinew. Romania supported and will continue to support in a consequent way the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Moldova. The Romanian authorities shall continue its European approach of the relations with its neighbour state, in spite of the anti-Romanian policy of the communist authorities in Kishinew.”
