Baku – APA-Economics. Brent oil, the international benchmark, strengthened to a seven-week high Thursday as the interim Ukrainian government called on the U.S. and European Union to impose broad sanctions on Russia, the No. 2 oil-exporting nation, Wall Street Journal reported.
Light, sweet crude for June delivery on the New York Mercantile Exchange settled up 50 cents, or 0.5%, at $101.94 a barrel. Brent crude on the ICE futures exchange rose $1.22, or 1.1%, to $110.33 a barrel, the highest price since March 3.
