APA-Economics reports quoting Ihlas news agency that a big oil reserve has been found in Siirt, Turkey. AKP parliamentarian from Siirt Afif Demirkiran said 150 barrels of oil per day will be produced in the well.
According to him, there are very rich oil fields in Siirt.

"Guney Yildizi firm and Turkey’s national oil firm TPAO discovered Dogu Sadak-1 well in the mountainous region," he said.

According to him, the 2,400 meter squared well produces three times more oil than the average well in Turkey. It is also believed to be of the best quality oil in the country.

"The company is targeting to stabilize oil production in this field and produce more oil. If necessary, other oil companies of the country can also be involved in the oil production in the region. There is much oil in Siirt," he said.
The parliamentarian said the discovery of this field will be a strong support for Turkey's economy.

"Turkey imports oil and energy worth $60bn every year. If several more oil fields are discovered, it will reduce the volume of imported oil," he said.

The samples of the oil found in Siirt oil field have already been sent to the laboratory and analyzed. Search of oil fields will be continued in this region.
