Tariff Council issues statement on petrol price

According to the Council, prices of AI-92 and AI-95 gasoline are relevantly AZN 0.70 and AZN 0.80 per liter.

According to the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers of Azerbaijan dated to March 31, 2014, the 95 and more octane gasoline meeting Euro-5 standards have not been included in the list of goods (services) regulated by the state.

However, to create opportunity for import of gasoline meeting euro standards for lower prices, under the decisions of the Cabinet of Ministers dated to February 7, 2014, customs duties 95 and 98 octane gasoline have been reduced to zero from 15%, excise rates – to $100 and $150 from $250. All this allows importing gasoline meeting high euro standards (Premium Euro-95 and Super Euro-98) and selling for useful prices.

95 and more octane gasoline account for 10% of domestic consumption, they are almost not used in production and service.
