“The prices of gasoline and other fuels in the country were increased in December last year. The Council has not received proposals for raising prices again. Therefore, an increase is not expected in the country,” said the Tariff Council.
Note that “musavat.com” reported that the gas stations in the southern region are not allowed to fill the fuel tanks of vehicles more than 6-7 liters of petrol or diesel in amount of AZN 5 without explaining its reasons. There are long queues in front of the stations. Drivers assume that petrol prices will be increased again.
It is also reported that the Tariff Council will likely pass another decision on the increase in petrol prices on the first working day of January (the 7th). Petrol stations, knowing this, restrict the sale of fuel. The petrol price will likely be raised to AZN 1.
Petrol price has been recently increased in Azerbaijan under the decision of the Tariff Council dated December2, 2013. As, the retail price for a liter of gasoline Aİ-95 was set at 80 kopecks while the retail price of gasoline in Aİ-92 and Aİ-80 - 70 kopecks per liter. Retail price of one liter of diesel fuel was set at 60 kopecks.
