Baku. Agshin Rafigoglu – APA-Economics. Seminar on the theme “New technologies and materials on welding industry” was held at Gobustan Regional Training Center of the Training, Teaching and Certification Department of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR).
APA-Economics reports that the event was attended by the experts from Azerbaijan, Turkey, Germany, UK and Russia.
SOCAR vice-president on personnel, regime and information technologies Khalik Mammadov spoke about the achievements in the sphere of energy. He said more than 2000 welding operators are working for SOCAR.
“Most of them have been certified. There is close cooperation with the international companies to develop underwater welding technology, to train divers carrying out underwater welding operations,” he said.
He said the practice of advanced bodies is being studied. “This seminar will give an impetus to spreading innovations in the field of welding. This will pave the way for future achievements,” he said.
Khalik Mammadov underlined that 14 000-15 000 jobs will be created within the framework of Shah Deniz 2 project, 4000-5000 of them will account for welding operators.
