Opening of ‘Gifts of Friend Countries’ exhibition held at National Museum of History of Azerbaijan

APA reports that the exhibition was attended by President of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences Akif Alizadeh, and diplomats and ambassadors of different countries.

Director of the museum, academician Naile Valikhanli said more than 600 unique exhibits—the gifts presented to Azerbaijan’s state institutions and well-known persons — representing 74 countries and regions are demonstrated at the exhibition.

Valikhanli noted the “Museum collections create intercourse” slogan has been declared the slogan of successive events by the International Council of Museumson on 18 May—International Museums Day: “National Museum of History of Azerbaijan will also host successive events in connection with International Museums Day”.

Valikhanli presented messages of thankfulness to Turkish ambassador to Azerbaijan Ismayıl Alper Coşkun, Belorusian embassy in Azerbaijan, BP company, and research scientist Adalet Tahirzadeh.

At the artistic part of the exhibition, dance scenes of different countries were performed.

At the exhibition, folk dresses of Albania, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Ghana, Mongolia, Uzbekistan, Rumania, Turkmenia, carpets from Afghanistan, Belorus, Rumania, Iran, Mali, Egypt, Moldova, Kabarda-Balkar, Takijikistan, Turkmenia, musical instruments of Russia, Kazakhstan, Cuba, India, China, Senegal, Uzbekistan are demonstrated.

The exhibition will last till September 1.
