The minister noted that he will today meet with Azerbaijani Minister of Energy Natig Aliyev: “We’ll discuss the transportation of Azeri oil to Ukraine and implementation of joint projects between two countries. Certainly, we are interested in bringing of Azeri oil to Ukrainian factories. We’ll discuss at this meeting how this oil will be transported”.
N. Aliyev said that Azerbaijani side is working on a number of projects for continuation of oil transportation to Ukraine: “We are interested in transportation of oil extracted from the Caspian Sea. In this sphere, we have established Sarmantiya international oil and gas pipeline company with Ukraine. Within this project, together wit the European Commission, we have developed a project regarding impact of gas pipelines on environment”.
The minister mentioned that over 40 filling stations o the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan are operating in Ukraine.
“SOCAR will increase the filling stations to 70 in the future. ”Ukrainian government supports this project. All of these allow Azerbaijan extending energy cooperation with Ukraine”.
