9-10% of them belongs to working-class people. This category of workers is updated every year. This is mainly related to retirement of workers and intention to change work place. And this figure is about 4,000 workers. In other words, SOCAR’s need for workers touches 4,000 every year.
SOCAR’s vice-president Khalik Mammadov said previously, the company took out these new workers in a simple way – in the streets: “However, the first vocational school of the Office of Training and Education Certification opened in 2005. The first year the school educated 120 students. In subsequent years, the company opened Sumgait vocational school, Gala vocational school and professional school on the sea to save a person's life. Now, a new school is being built in Gobustan”.
Mammadov noted that these schools would meet 70% of SOCAR’s need for working-class employees.
He also reminded that for more than seven years, SOCAR receives the persons, who had been deprived of parental care, to the training centers without any competition: “Today, SOCAR recruits more than 50 children in this category. We are very pleased that today, a lot of homeless children can work in SOCAR. This is the most successful social project of the State Oil Company”.
