# 24 December 2013 13:32 (UTC +04:00)

According to APA-Economics, the price rise was caused by decline of exchange rate of national currency of Georgia (Lari). Price rise covered all petrol stations in Georgia and the growth approximately made 5-7 tetris/litre.

Director-General of the SOCAR-Georgia Mahir Mammadov told APA-Economics that the price rise also influenced SOCAR petrol stations.

Therefore, retail sale price of the fuel rose 5 tetris: “Price rise of fuel in Georgia is normal. Fuel in this country is sold in accordance with the world market and the price rise in oil and oil products had to influence the prices in Georgia. Lari was devalued by 6-8% recent months”.

Mammadov says the price rise will not influence fuel consumers and vehicle owners: “As a holiday gift, it’s possible the fuel price drops on the eve the New Year. We’ll try to reduce the prices to previous level or cheaper”.

Note that price of “Super” gasoline rose to 2.30 Laris from 2.20 Laris, “Premium” gasoline to 2.25 Laris from 2.15 Laris, “Avriregular” gasoline to 2.19 Lari from 1.99 Laris. Diesel price increased to 2.10 Laris from 2.07 Laris.
