Total cost of the project is estimated at $2.5 bn. The length of the pipeline will make 470 km and it will stretch from Israel till Mersin port of Turkey.
If the mentioned project comes true, this pipeline will transport 16 bcm of gas per year. Official Tel Aviv has not yet made any statement in this regard.
There are two huge gas fields in Israel – Tamar and Leviafon. Gas reserves of these fields are enough to meet 25-year demand of the country. Israeli government intends to export 40% of gas in these fields. According to initial calculations, reserves of Tamar stand at 240 bcm, reserves of Leviafon – at 453 bcm.
