Production in non-oil sector grew by 5% in Azerbaijan last year

Baku. Agshin RafiqoÄŸlu – APA-Economics. AZN33.7bn products were produced and services offered in the industrial sector of Azerbaijan last year. This is up by 1.8% compared to the previous year.

APA-Economics reports quoting the State Statistical Committee that non-oil sector grew by 4.8%, oil sector by 1.1%. 74% of the industrial production accounted for mining industry, 20.1% for processing, 5.3% for power, gas and steam production, distribution and supply 0.6% for water supply, waste treatment and processing.

The volume of production in the private sector accounted for 81.4% of the industrial production, 93.1% of the general production accounted for industrial goods, 6.9% for industrial services.

Most of the industrial products were delivered to consumers, products worth AZN251.3m remained in the storehouses of the plants. 65% of these products remained in the storehouses in Baku, 9.6% in Sumgayit, 1.6% in Ganja, 1.4% in Shirvan and 0.3% in Mingachevir.
