Azerbaijan to conduct geological and exploration activities in Afghanistan

For this purpose, experts of Industry and Energy Ministry will be sent to this country, Minister of Mines and Petroleum Wahidullah Shahrani told reporters after the meeting with Minister of Industry and Energy Natig Aliyev.

To him, Afghanistan is a country rich with oil and natural resources and Azerbaijan will support this country by all means: “After the completion of geological exploration work in Afghanistan, a group of experts will be invited to Azerbaijan. We think they can take advantage of Azerbaijan’s experience in this field. Our country is always ready to increase their literacy in this area”.

Aliyev noted that in October-November of this year, bilateral memorandum of cooperation is expected to be signed between the two countries: “This, in particularm will be connected with the construction of small oil processing enterprises in Afghanistan. The number and production capacity of those enterprises will be reflected in the MoU, to be signed soon”.
