Azerbaijan sees 4% decline in industrial production

Baku. Agshin Rafigoglu – APA-Economics. In January-February, 2014, AZN 5.4 bn-products were produced and services rendered in industrial sector of Azerbaijan, down 3.7% compared to the last year.

SSC says AZN 3.9 bln or 71.6% of industrial production was in mining field (6.8 mln tonnes of oil and 3.1 bcm of gas have been produced).

AZN 1.1 bln industrial products were produced in processing sector, up 0.3% by contrast to a year earlier. Food production rose 4.0%, weaving products – 9.1%, clothes – 9.5%, chemical products – 15.5%, metallurgy – 47.0%, construction materials – 10.6%, machine and equipments – 26.8%, power equipments – 53.2%, vehicles and trailers – 3.3 times, other transport facilities – 3.2 times, furniture – 19.5%, jewelry, muic, sport and medical equipments – 20.9%, installation and repair of machine and equipments – 2.1 times.

AZN 363.4 mln or 6.7% products belonged to power, gas and steam production, distribution and supply, 13.3% compared to a year earlier. Power production rose 4.3% to 4.0 bln kVt/hour. Production in non-oil sector grew 8.8%, in non-oil sector slipped 4.8%.

98.7% of products were directed to the consumers. The storehouses of the enterprises had AZN 322.8 mln-finished products, up AZN 35.0 mln from previous month.
