"Central Asia possesses vast and untapped renewable energy potential that could make a significant contribution to the global energy transition," said Sanghoon Lee, President of the Korea Energy Agency, during a high-level panel discussion on increasing investments and financing the energy transition in Central Asia, APA reports.
"Last year, we saw a 50% increase in global renewable energy potential compared to 2022. However, this growth has been largely concentrated in developed countries and China. Central Asia has unique, complementary energy resources that enable it to effectively leverage cross-border cooperation in renewable energy, providing multifaceted benefits to the participating countries," he added.
