Natig Aliyev: â€œNabucco is spoken about much, but very few persons are working to realize itâ€

He noted that, Azerbaijan produces 28.5 bcm of gas, keeps 10.11 bcm of this for domestic needs and exports the remaining: â€œItâ€™s interesting that, we imported gas from Russa 3-4 years ago, but no we export gas to Russia. Weâ€™ll increase the exporting gas to Russia to 2 bcm and it was offered to reach it 5 bcm. At the same time, we export 1 bcm gas to Iran, 1 bcm to Georgia and 6 bcm to Turkey. Besides, Azeri gas is reexported to Greece. We are ready to export gas to Bulgaria, Romania, Albania and Italy, but it needs proxy and safe transport corridorsâ€.

N. Aliyev noted that, Nabucco was spoken about much, but very few persons are working to realize it. According to him, this was caused by the stopping of long-term supply issues and financing of pipeline: â€œParticipation of Turkmenistan and Iran are discussed, every time. Geopolitical discussions prevent the project. I think, if technicians and financers are attracted to the project, the works will be accelerated.â€
