Population to be given preferential credits to purchase power devices in Azerbaijan

According to Jamil Malikov, Deputy Director, State Agency on Alternative and Renewable Energy Resources of the Ministry of Industry and Energy, one of these suggestions is the exemption of technological equipments from import duties during the bringing from abroad to Azerbaijan. He also noted that, concessions for 5-10 years had to be planned to achieve the development in other sectors of renewable energy sphere.

Second suggestion is to give the preferential credits for purchase of power devices. He says that, the entrepreneurs and their purchasers engaging in production of such devices will be given preferential credits. For these credits, the funds will be allocated by EBRD, ADB and Abu-Dhabi Development Fund.

These allocations will be delivered to the population through local banks. Population wil buy devices and pay its installation costs at home. Person to set biogas plant will be given AZN 5 000 and persons to use the solar panels will be given AZN 10 000 credits.

The total cost of allocation to be borrowed within the framework of this project has not been determined, yet. This will depend on pilot projects in Azerbaijan.
