Azerbaijani President meets with SOCAR management on the occasion of launch of new gas field

According to head of state, the positions of Azerbaijan in world energy system are strengthened and the successes are appreciated in the world.

President Aliyev noted that, the investments in offshore fields have a great importance and conducting of exploration works in Umid field was one of our next successes.

â€œThis shows that, Azerbaijan is known as not only oil country, but gas country in the worldâ€ said President Aliyev. According to him, gas extraction in this field will increase the potential of Azerbaijan.

SOCAR President Rovnag Abdullayev and first vice-president Khoshbakht Yusifzadeh informed about the exploration works and perspectives of Umid field. The reserves in the Umid field exceed the forecasts.
