Azerbaijan transported 123 mln tonnes oil via Ceyhan port

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev – APA-Economics. Azerbaijan transported 3.28 mln tonnes oil via Ceyhan port in June, down by 6.3% compared with May, up 9.3% from the same period of last year.

SOCAR says 18.3 mln tonnes oil was transported via Ceyhan port in January-June, up 4.4% in comparison with 2009.

Generally, Azerbaijan has transported 122.9 mln tonnes oil via Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline since it has been launched.

Note that, BTC was launched in July, 2006. The distance of the pipeline is 1 768 km (443 km in Azerbaijan, 248 km in Georgia and 1 077 km in Turkey) and the annual transportation capacity is 50 mln tonnes.

BTC shareholders are: BP-Azerbaijan» (30,1%), AzBTC (25%), «Chevron» (8,9%), «Statoil» (8,71%), TPAO (6,53%), ENI (5%), «Total» (5%), «İtoçu» (3,4%), «Inpex» (2,5%), «KonokoPhillips» (2,5%) və «Hess» (2,36%).
