Baku to host meeting about ecological and investment risks oil-gas operations in Caspian

Baku – APA-Economics. In coming week Caspian-European Integration Business Club will hold an emergency session on the subject of “Ecological and investment risks of oil-gas operations performed in the Caspian due to ecological catastrophe in the Mexican gulf”.

Invitations for participating in this activity were sent to all oil companies and ecological organizations operating in the Caspian.

The major goal of the session is to study possibilities of prevention of critical ecological situation occurred in the Mexican gulf, as well as possible aggravation of risks concerning the decline of market capitalization of BP and forth-coming multibillion expenditures that the company will have to face for covering direct and indirect losses in the United States.

Telman Aliyev, President and CEO of the Caspian-European Integration Business Club, said that environmental security issues start gaining more significance in the Caspian and Black Sea region countries where the Club carries out its activity and where ranges and tempos of performance of oil-gas operations keep constantly increasing.
This activity is organized in the view of numerous requests of companies which are the members of the Club. And we do really hope that in spite of BP’s not being a member of the Club, its management will take part in these discussions, T.Aliyev said.
