Turkmenistan to host first International Gas Congress on April 14-15

Baku â€“ APA-Economics. The 1st International Gas Congress of Turkmenistan (TGC-2010) will be held at the Exhibition Palace of Ashgabat on April 14-15. The congress is organized by Turkmengaz state concern and British company "Summit Trade Events Ltd." The list of the congress sponsors also includes Chevron, Honeywell, RWE, BP and others, Turkmenistan.ru reported.

500 delegates from 30 countries are expected to participate in the forum. The list of speakers features European Commissioner for Energy Gnther Oettinger, Minister of Economy, Energy and Tourism of Bulgaria Traicho Traykova, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of the Republic of Turkey Taner Yildiz, Managing Director of "Nabucco Pipeline International" Reinhard Mitschek, officials from Afghanistan, Georgia, Iraq, Korea, Poland, representatives of the Ministry of Energy of Russia and the U.S. State Department.

The congress will be also attended by delegates from the International Gas Union, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the International Energy Agency, Secretariat of the Energy Charter, representatives of companies such as OMV, Wintershall, LG International, Dragon Oil, Hyundai Engineering, Eni, Shell, StatOil, Gazprom, Lukoil, CNPC, KOGAS, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Gaffney Cline & Associates, LLC Gaztehlizing, ExxonMobil, SOCAR, the Bulgarian energy holding company and others.

The Turkmen government will be represented by Deputy Prime Minister Baymyrad Hojamuhammedov, Head of the State Agency for Management and Use of Hydrocarbon Resources under the President of Turkmenistan Yagshigeldy Kakayev, Chairman of Turkmenneft state concern Annaguly Deryaev, Chairman of Turkmengaz state concern Nury Mukhammedov, Chairman of Turkmengeologiya state corporation Tore Yagshimuradov and others.

The program of the TGC-2010 will include issues related to attracting investments and development of gas fields in Turkmenistan, extraction, processing and transportation of gas to domestic consumers and foreign markets. An exhibition of equipment, technologies and services for the oil and gas industry will be held during the congress.
