Azerbaijan builds biggest cement plant in the region

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev â€“ APA-Economics. Today Norm LLC hosted a presentation of the construction project of the biggest cement plant in the region to be built in Azerbaijan.

Murad Sadikhov, development and strategy officer of Norm, noted that the establishment works of the plant will commence on late April.

From May 2012 the plant will start producing 2 million tonnes of cement.

â€œThe New Gizildash Cement Plant will be constructed in 3km north-west of Sangachal terminal in Garadagh district, and the area for construction has already been allottedâ€, he said.

According to him, new technologies will be applied in the plant and all the international standards will be met on environmental protection.

An international tender has already been announced and the winner will be selected in 2010, consequently a contract will be signed.

India-based Holtec Consulting Private Ltd. is the technical consultant for this project.

Norm LLC was established in 2006 to build cement producing enterprises and then to sell final products in the domestic market.
