SOCAR invested $400 million in Georgian economy in 2009

Tbilisi. Nizami Mammadzade - APA-ECONOMICS. SOCAR Georgia Petroleum, a subsidiary of SOCAR in Georgia, invested more than GEL 30 million in the construction of filling stations in Georgia last year.
As APA’s Georgia Bureau reports, SOCAR Georgia Petroleum raised the number of stations to 25.
Faig Guliyev, official of SOCAR’s Georgian Office, said that the number of gas stations in Georgia will be brought up to 50 until the completion of 3-year program.
"During the past 4 years, we invested more than 400 million dollars in the economy of Georgia. SOCAR-owned Kulevi Terminal won yesterday’s contest in the nomination of "the modern standard terminal", and SOCAR’s Georgian office was awarded "The largest social investorâ€â€, he added.
SOCAR Georgia Petroleum won the award “the largest taxpayer of the year†in 2009.
