International energy conference kicks off in Batumi

Batumi. Nizami Mamedzade - APA-ECONOMICS. An international energy conference has kicked off in Batumi, Georgia.

As APAâ€™s local bureau reports, Georgian Prime Minister Nika Gilauri delivered an opening address at the conference.
Azerbaijan is represented at the conference by a delegation led by Prime Minister Artur Rasizade.

The delegation included the Industry and Energy Minister Natig Aliyev, Deputy Foreign Minister Khalaf Khalafov, Azerbaijani Ambassador to Georgia Namig Aliyev and others.

The conference joined by delegations from 10 countries will focus on the Nabucco project, Energy Security in the South Caucasus region, the development of energy corridors, etc.

It had been originally scheduled to hold an energy summit with the participation of presidents but the summit was postponed by Georgian President at the last minute.
