Azerbaijan sells 2.8 million tons of crude from Ceyhan in November

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev – APA-Economics. 2.8 million tonnes of oil were sailed to world markets from Turkey’s Ceyhan Port during November, down 17.8% from a month ago, said SOCAR.

According to the company, in total 33.5 million tonnes of oil were sent to world markets from Ceyhan port in January-November.

From the launch of the BTC pipeline in June 2006 to December 1, 2009, in total 101.9 million tonnes of Azeri Light crude oil were sent to world markets from Ceyhan port.

Following the final commissioning of new BTC pump stations and facilities in Azerbaijan and Georgia, BTC reached its design capacity of one million barrels of oil a day (approximately 50 million tonnes per year) in mid-2008 and the pipeline’s design capacity of 1.2 million barrels of oil a day was achieved in March 2009.

The BTC Co. shareholders are: BP (30.1%); AzBTC (25.00%); Chevron (8.90%); StatoilHydro (8.71%); TPAO (6.53%); ENI (5.00%); Total (5.00%), Itochu (3.40%); INPEX (2.50%), ConocoPhillips (2.50%) and Hess (2.36%).
