Azerbaijan approves some legal documents for a special economic regime for export-oriented oil and gas activities

Baku. Rashad Suleymanov - APA-ECONOMICS. Azerbaijani Cabinet of Ministers has approved some legal documents for the application of a special economic regime to the export-oriented oil and gas activities.

The first document is a list of documents needed for granting permit to contractors and subcontractors to hire foreign workers on the basis of an employment agreement for the implementation of the export-oriented oil and gas activities in a ratio which differs from the set ratio of the Azerbaijani citizens to foreign nationals.
Under the rules, the companies shall seek permission from SOCAR in order employ foreigners more than 20% of the total number of employees.

The second document is a "list of documents added to the statement submitted by the contractor (subcontractor) in order to obtain a certificate for the use of a special economic regime."

This document describes the papers necessary to obtain a certificate.

Cabinet also approved the "Regulations for the appointment of an expert to examine the documents submitted by the contractor (subcontractor) to obtain a certificate for the use of a special economic regime and the examination," and "Rules for the issuance, extension and the abolition of the certificate to contractors (subcontractors) on the application of a special economic regime to the export-oriented oil and gas activities.
