Azerbaijani-Slovenian Business Forum to be held in Baku

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev - APA-ECONOMICS. Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Economic Development of and Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Foundation (AzPromo) organized a round table with the participation of representatives from Azeri and Slovenian industrial and engineering sectors.

The event was held as part of Azerbaijani-Slovenian Business Forum.

Azerbaijan’s Deputy Minister of Industry and Energy Gulmammad Javadov said at the gathering that his country intends to cooperate with the Slovenian entrepreneurs in various fields.

He briefed the participants about the development of industry, including oil and gas sectors of the country, adding that Azerbaijan also focuses on the development of non-oil sector.

According to him, about 20 state programs are currently being implemented in Azerbaijan.

"We can cooperate with Slovenia within the "Regional Development "and" Alternative Energy" Programs. Azerbaijan is closely cooperating with Germany on the "Alternative energy" Program and intends to bring this sector into line with European standards," he added.

Ales Kontrarutti, representative of the Chamber of Commerce of Slovenia, said that trade turnover between the two countries stands at $10 million.

"This is small figure, and we hope that it will multiply in future. About 60 companies are expected to join a joint business forum in Baku tomorrow,” he added.
