Baku. Rashad Suleymanov - APA-ECONOMICS. Azerbaijan will reconstruct the 500 kV high-voltage power lines connecting power grids of Azerbaijan and Georgia on the border area during 2010-2011, said Etibar Pirverdiyev, President of AzerEnerji.

"Azerbaijan will be able to supply electricity to Turkey after several projects are completed in Georgia,” he added.

Georgian State Electricity System, AzerEnerji and Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation signed a Memorandum on the proposed Power Bridge Project in Tbilisi on April 8.

Under the project, Georgia, Azerbaijan and Turkey will form a single regional model of high-voltage network. Along with this, a working group will examine the current status of networks in each country to define the amount of investment required for the project.

The project is supported by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and Energy Agency.
