Azerbaijan exports 3 million tons of crude from Ceyhan in Sep.

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev – APA-Economics. 3.073 million tonnes of oil was pumped abroad through Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan Pipeline during September, said SOCAR.

According to the company, in total 27.292 million tonnes of oil were exported through this route in January-September.

Since the launch of the BTC pipeline, 97.608 million tonnes of Azeri Light crude oil was exported through the pipeline.

3.014 million tonnes of oil was sent to world markets from Turkey’s Port of Ceyhan in September. This figure was 27.387 million tonnes for January-September, and 95.763 million tonnes for the period since the launch of pipeline.

Following the final commissioning of new BTC pump stations and facilities in Azerbaijan and Georgia, BTC reached its design capacity of one million barrels of oil a day (approximately 50 million tonnes per year) in mid-2008 and the pipeline’s design capacity of 1.2 million barrels of oil a day was achieved in March 2009.

The BTC Co. shareholders are: BP (30.1%); AzBTC (25.00%); Chevron (8.90%); StatoilHydro (8.71%); TPAO (6.53%); ENI (5.00%); Total (5.00%), Itochu (3.40%); INPEX (2.50%), ConocoPhillips (2.50%) and Hess (2.36%).
