Baku. Rashad Suleymanov - APA-ECONOMICS. Azerbaijan has more achievements than Kazakhstan in the implementation of energy projects, said Robert Cutler, Senior Research Fellow, Institute of European, Russian and Eurasian Studies, Carleton University.

Speaking about the pipeline project Nabucco, he noted that this project is more than the South Stream and Nord Stream.

According to him, Iran’s presence in this project depends on political issues in this country.

In his words, controversies on energy issues between Iran and neighboring countries hinder the country’s participation in regional energy projects.

With regard to the issue of NATO’s involvement in the protection of energy infrastructure in the South Caucasus, Roberg Cutler said that the presence of NATO in the region is not needed for the protection of pipelines.

Turkey, a member of NATO, is in located in this region and works closely with other states, including Georgia towards the protection of infrastructure.
