The Iraqi government is ready to negotiate on the issue of Azerbaijani children and women in Iraq, Deputy Foreign Minister of Iraq Said Shorsh Khalid told reporters in Baku on Friday, APA reports.
He noted that the Iraqi government has provided assistance in returning many children to their countries.
"We helped Russia get back 27 children from Iraq. We are ready to discuss this issue with Azerbaijan as well. We can decide on their return,” he said.
“As far as I know, the Azerbaijani side has not made ay formal request to us. Of course, we are ready for negotiations, if requested,” the deputy FM added.
