He said that new programs on teaching English will be implemented in Azerbaijan and hundreds of American students will come to the country in summer to learn Azeri. 2000 Azerbaijanis have studied in the US since 1992. Thomas Farrell said tens millions of dollars were spent on these programs and regarded it as a great factor for extending US-Azerbaijan relations.
Deputy Assistant Secretary of State met with Education Minister Misir Mardanov, Minister of Economic Development Heydar Babayev and Minister of Finance Samir Sharifov in the framework of his visit to Baku.
