APA reports quoting the Council of Europe that the aim of the visit is to discuss preparations for the interparliamentary conference on the settlement of Nagorno Karabakh conflict. Lord Russell-Johnston is planned to have meetings with President Ilham Aliyev, speaker of the parliament Ogtay Asadov and parliamentarians representing different parties.
Lord Russell-Johnston had offered to hold a conference with participation of Azerbaijani and Armenian parliamentarians in Strasbourg. The conference is planned to be held on April 18.
